She Must

The splitting started just after we began
You will stand there
And you will stand there
You will wear this
And you will be that

And the strongest decided
And they threw around that weight
And they took what they wanted
And threw away the rest
And they made a world just for them

And they laid down the laws
That suited them best
They carved in stone their ideas for the world
They sliced the lands up
And the division began

And she must say this
And she must wear that
And she must lie down
And she must work here
And she must deliver me a son

The years lived their lives
And burned out the candles
The sparks took their flight
And the world changed forever
And the metal would fly to the moon

But still she must say this
And she must wear that
And she must lie down
And she must work here
And she must deliver me a son

We can cut up an atom
We can fly past the moon
We can fashion a diamond
We can feed a nation
But still – forever she must
