The Songbird

The sweetest sounds
To tumble forth
The songbird
That is love
Gentle and lilting
The warmth of the familiar
Woodsmoke on a dusky
Tangerine skyline
A breath so soft
Carrying fragile trilling
On night Jasmine
A love to burn all others
Watching the stars come up
While the nightingale
Will sing us both to sleep
